This course is generally offered every other month in an effort to keep classes small to enhance the group interaction and individualize the learning experience. The 36 Hour Course covers all of the state mandated areas as well as numerous other topics of focus addressing good practice to provide for a well rounded educational experience.

Dementia Unit Train the Trainer
This 2 day course is specially designed to be geared for those facilities who have a designated Alzheimer's Unit. The course provides comprehensive training to the individuals in accordance with the Illinois Administrative Code -- Subpart U. At the end of the course participants will take back to their facilities all of the required trainings, handouts, pre and post tests, and hands on exercises to comply with Subpart U.
Subpart S Training Course
This intensive one day training provides participants with the knowledge and tools to provide programming to the mentally ill population in long term care facilities in accordance with the Illinois Administrative Code - Subpart S. The regulation will be reviewed and explained in depth. Participants will receive an overview of severe mental illnesses as well as information on providing assessment and programming.
Preparation IDPH - A QIS Preparedness Course
This one day course focuses on the upcoming QIS survey process. It is specifically geared to Activity and Social Service staff and the areas that the survey will focus on.
Santa's Workshop
This one day workshop teaches the participants how to use a theme each month to assist in activity planning that encompasses the required components for the calendar. The participants will engage in the activities and share their creativity to add to the content.

Activities Beyond the Birthday Party
This one day course offers participants options for activity planning that go above and beyond the basic Bingo and Birthday Party. Not only will individuals learn how to implement these activities, but also economical ways to obtain materials and resources.
Culture Change
This one day workshop provides participants with information and practical tools to begin the journey of Culture Change in their facility.
